WAR AND PEACE

Our last masterworks concert of the season presents the contrasting themes of war and peace, with the hope of grace and goodwill. Strauss’ Four Last Songs featuring our beautiful soprano soloist, Melanie Henley Heyn, was one of the last pieces of music Strauss wrote before his death. The second half of the concert will open with Hailstork's Fanfare on Amazing Grace. To conclude the performance, the orchestra will be joined by our beloved Symphony Chorale and our accomplished guest artists, Melanie Henley Heyn and José Rubio. Vaughan Williams’ powerful Dona Nobis Pacem, a heartrending cry for peace in the time of war.
