Spirit, Song and Remembrance

Our last classical concert of the season features our beloved Chorale in Duruflé’s Requiem, and a collaboration with the Montana Flute Festival in presenting Franz Doppler’s double flute concerto. Gabriela Lena Frank’s Elegía Andina was influenced by her multi-cultural background and the music of her mother’s homeland, Peru.

Frank—Elegía Andina

Penned in 2000, this colorful 11-minute piece reflects the multicultural influences that have made Frank one of today’s most distinctive and celebrated composers.
